The next day all the neighbour started burning crackers again in the same aggressive way. It was 8:10 p.m. then. My sister was in the second storey of our house as she was checking if the water tank wasn't overflowing. Then at that moment, one more time some crackers were burnt in the direction of our Dwelling. She pointing out the kids not to do so but they didn't listen to her and kept on burning them. The surprising thing was that they were also not pointing out them! She again out of frustration told them if they were not taught any etiquettes by their parents. At the same moment all the parents aggressively started rebuking my sister and blaming her as she had thrown a diya to one of the lady near our house. Their wards, both are adult(one boy and another a girl) and mature aggressively targeting her and blaming her that she had intentedly thrown diya to her. And then, the parents of the kids who were burning firecrackers also passed aggressive derogatory remarks. Till then I was reading downstairs and then my wife told everything to me. I was in utter confusion what to do now because they all proved her wrong and as we know that majority can prove the false even truth. I came out and told them what they were doing from the yesternight. My father was also there. One of the parent, a male person nearly 40 to 45 years old rudely talked to my father and said that they would burn crackers as the whole Ludhiana was burning crackers till 1 p.m. I told them that whatever she did was due to the continuous disturbance and utter frustration but she didn't throw that to hit someone, nor it physically hurt any person. But even then both of the wards of that lady, the siblings kept on targeting her in front of me. They all were wrong but they smartly constructed a false storyline and used the power of their groupism to present the false as true and true as false.
This episode upset me a lot. I hardly slept that night. The thing which hurt me a lot is their way to talk to a girl! Now the question is what was our fault and why we were treated in such a way? Is it because we were not the part of any group and we didn't like burning firecrackers? Is it justifiable to support the kids even if they are wrong? The incident raised many questions and also questioning the hollow society which is deprived of value system and Empathy.
